Copilot Cowork Skills

37 things you can teach Cowork to do. Download one file, upload it in Cowork, start a new conversation. No GitHub account, no folders to create, no admin request.

How to install any skill below

The same five steps every time. Cowork checks the file and saves it to your OneDrive for you.

  1. 1Select Download on the skill you want.
  2. 2In Cowork, open Customize.
  3. 3Select the Skills tab.
  4. 4Select the arrow next to Add, then Upload skill, and choose the file you downloaded.
  5. 5Start a new conversation and type one of the example phrases.

Two things to check first. Cowork has to be switched on for you by an admin, and it is off by default.

Custom skills are not supported in Cowork on a phone or tablet, so use a laptop or desktop.

Daily Briefings

Commitment Catcher

Nothing you promised, and nothing promised to you, slips through the last 24 hours unnoticed.

Try: “What did I promise people in the last 24 hours?”

Custom Daily Brief

A morning brief that covers what your role actually needs, saved as a dated Word document, not a one-size-fits-all summary.

Try: “Run my daily brief.”

Dashboards & Microapps

Project Dashboard Builder

One Cowork request turns your project tracker files into a polished, offline, single-file HTML dashboard you can attach, pin or print.

Try: “Build a dashboard for the website-relaunch project.”

Data & Analytics

Dataset Insight Pack

Reads a spreadsheet and your question, then produces a DRAFT insight pack — profile, observations (as leads, not conclusions), caveats, and suggested charts. Never the source of truth; every figure is yours to verify.

Try: “Explore sales-q3.xlsx and tell me what stands out”

Data Privacy

DPIA Draft Pack

Reads a project/processing description and produces a DRAFT DPIA scaffold — description, necessity & proportionality questions, a risk table with the ratings left blank, mitigations, and open questions. The DPO rates, decides, and signs.

Try: “Start a DPIA for the new employee-monitoring tool — here's the project doc”

Email & Inbox

Inbox Triage

Sorts a week of inbox into five buckets, drafts the replies, and writes you a dated report, without moving a single message until your rules file says it can.

Try: “Triage my inbox from the last week.”

Executive Review

CBO Reviewer

Pressure-test the commercial side of a proposal before a real Chief Business Officer does it for you, in the meeting.

Try: “Run a CBO review on Documents/Proposals/q3-partner-proposal.docx.”

CDO Reviewer

Pressure-test your business case against a Chief Data Officer archetype before the real one asks where your numbers actually come from.

Try: “Run a CDO review on customer-360-business-case.docx”

CFO Reviewer

Pressure-test your business case against a CFO archetype before the real CFO does it for you, in the meeting.

Try: “Run a CFO review on q3-platform-business-case.docx”

CHRO Reviewer

Pressure-test your plan against a CHRO archetype before the real one asks who actually loses their job on slide 12.

Try: “Run a CHRO review on ops-restructure-plan.docx”

CISO Reviewer

Pressure-test any proposal against a Chief Information Security Officer before the real one sees it.

Try: “Run a CISO review on vendor-consolidation-proposal.docx”

CMO Reviewer

A Chief Marketing Officer archetype tears your proposal apart on Tuesday, so the real one cannot on Thursday.

Try: “Run a CMO review on Documents/Proposals/q3-campaign-business-case.docx”

COO Reviewer

Pressure-test a plan against the operations lens before the real COO does it in the meeting.

Try: “Review my Q3 expansion proposal as a COO before Thursday's steering committee.”

CPO Reviewer

Pressure-test your product plan against a CPO archetype before the real one asks where the users are.

Try: “Run a CPO review on q3-roadmap-proposal.docx”

CRO Reviewer

A Chief Revenue Officer archetype that pressure-tests your proposal before the real one does.

Try: “Review this business case as a CRO before I take it to the revenue leadership meeting.”

CTO Reviewer

Pressure-test a proposal against the questions a Chief Technology Officer will actually ask, before you are in the room with one.

Try: “Give the Q3 platform migration business case a CTO review before Thursday's steering committee.”

Customer Advocate Reviewer

Pressure-test your plan against the paying customers who are never in the room when it gets approved.

Try: “Run a customer advocate review on q3-migration-plan.docx”

Frontline Skeptic Reviewer

Pressure-test your rollout plan against the people who will actually have to live with it, before it meets a busy Tuesday.

Try: “Run a frontline skeptic review on crm-rollout-plan.docx”

General Counsel Reviewer

Pressure-test your proposal against a General Counsel archetype before the real one asks where the liability cap went.

Try: “Run a general counsel review on vendor-partnership-proposal.docx”

Investor Reviewer

Pressure-test your business case against the person whose capital is at stake, before you ask for the money in the room.

Try: “Run an investor review on platform-funding-case.docx”

Procurement Reviewer

Pressure-test your proposal against a Head of Procurement archetype before the real one reads the order form line by line.

Try: “Run a procurement review on crm-renewal-proposal.docx”

Works Council Reviewer

Pressure-test your rollout plan against a Works Council Representative archetype before the real consultation meeting does it for you.

Try: “Run a works council review on copilot-rollout-plan.docx”

IT Operations

SharePoint Review Sweeper

Finds every document past its review date in a SharePoint library, then hands you a reminder spreadsheet and per-owner email Drafts instead of a manual library export.

Try: “Run a review sweep on the Policies library”

Meetings

Meeting Prep One-Pager

Walk into any meeting with a one-page brief instead of digging through email, Teams and files first.

Try: “Prep me for my next meeting.”

Transcript to Actions

Turn any meeting transcript into owned, dated action items, tracked tasks, and per-owner follow-up email drafts, with a file you can trust even when Planner writes fail.

Try: “Turn this transcript into action items and follow-up emails.”

Meta-Skills

No-Delete Guardrail

Makes every Cowork conversation list its changes before making them, write new versions instead of overwriting, journal everything, and refuse bulk deletes outright.

Try: “Clean up my project folder, but check with me before you remove anything.”

Skills Backup Keeper

Your skills folder can be wiped without warning. This skill makes sure that costs you five minutes, not five weeks.

Try: “Back up my skills folder before I edit anything”

Procurement & Vendor Management

RFP Comparison Pack

Reads several bid responses against your requirements and produces a DRAFT comparison pack — a requirement-by-supplier matrix, gaps, and clarification questions. Prepares the panel; never scores or picks a winner.

Try: “Compare these three tender responses against our requirements”

Project Management

Project Status Tracker

Cowork maintains your project's status files from email, Teams and meeting transcripts, then writes the weekly status report so you stop rebuilding it by hand every Friday.

Try: “Set up project tracking for the Helios migration.”

Reporting & Analysis

News Monitor Digest

Turns a manual review of a long list of news sources into one verified, role-relevant digest you can read in two minutes. Sweeps up to 24 sources per run, in grouped queries.

Try: “Run my news digest”

Report Attachment Analyzer

Turns the report that lands in your inbox every week into a maintained trend spreadsheet and a one-page summary of what changed.

Try: “Update the trends for the weekly sales report”

Risk, Ethics & Compliance

Controls Gap Pack

Reads a requirement (regulation, standard, policy) and your control descriptions, then produces a DRAFT controls-and-gap pack — obligations, mapped controls, apparent coverage, gaps, and actions to assess. Owners and audit decide compliance and effectiveness.

Try: “Map this regulation to our controls and find the gaps”

Sales & BD

Estimate to SOW

Turns a priced estimate spreadsheet into a DRAFT statement of work built from your own template, with the maths checked before a single sentence is drafted.

Try: “Turn estimate-acme-q3.xlsx into a statement of work”

Trade Compliance

Export Review Pack

Reads an export transaction and produces a DRAFT review pack — parties to screen, a classification worksheet, a red-flag review, and licence-determination questions. Never classifies, screens, clears, or decides a licence; trade compliance does.

Try: “Prepare an export review pack for this order”

Writing & Communication

Branded Deck Builder

Cowork has no BrandKit, so this skill gives it one: your own .pptx template, written brand rules, and a compliance pass on every slide.

Try: “Build a 12-slide deck on the Q3 roadmap using our company template.”

Write Like Me

Cowork drafts that sound like you wrote them, built from 90 days of your own sent mail and meeting transcripts.

Try: “Build my voice profile from my sent mail.”
