Mistral Vibe Agent Profiles

17 ready-made agent profiles, sorted by what each one is allowed to touch. That is the first thing worth knowing about an agent and usually the last thing anyone tells you.

Read only 7

These look and report. They do not write to your files.

Change Summariser

subagent

Subagent. Reads a diff and reports what changed, what it touches and what it does not cover, with file and line references. Delegate to it with the task tool. It reports; it does not approve a change.

Codebase Cartographer

subagent

Subagent. Walks an unfamiliar tree and returns a map: entry points, module boundaries, where configuration and tests live, and the parts it could not account for. Two tools only, so it cannot run anything or change anything.

Dependency Auditor

subagent

Subagent. Reads the manifests and lock files in a tree and reports declared dependencies, declared licences, version ranges that float, and the places where the lock and the manifest disagree. It reads the files as written and makes no vulnerability claim.

Humans Decide

Reads anything in the tree and writes only into a drafts folder. No shell, no network, no delegation. This constrains the tools, not the judgement: everything it produces is a draft for a person to accept, change or throw away.

Read Only

Searches and reads, and does nothing else. enabled_tools is an allowlist, so bash, write_file, search_replace, web_fetch and task are not merely denied, they are absent from the tool list the model is given.

Review Only

Read-only tools, and only the review skills. enabled_skills is an allowlist of glob patterns, so every skill whose name does not match is left out of the context entirely rather than merely discouraged.

Source Collector

subagent

Subagent. Collects and quotes the sources for a question, each with its URL and the date shown on the page, and separates what a source states from what it implies. It does not rule on whether a claim is true and it cannot tell you what is current.

Writes files 9

These write files. Nothing they do reaches outside the working directory.

Cheap

Switches the active model to devstral-small, the 24B Apache 2.0 model already present in Vibe CLI's default model list, and changes nothing else. For mechanical passes where the large model is not buying anything.

Docs Only

Edits prose and nothing else. write_file and search_replace are denied by default and allowed only on .md, .mdx, .rst and .txt files. No shell, so no build step can be run to check the result.

Local Only

Points the active model at the llamacpp provider on 127.0.0.1:8080 and denies the two network tools. You need a llama-server already listening there; nothing in this profile starts one, and a missing server shows up as a connection error, not as a fallback.

No Network

Keeps the work local. web_fetch and web_search are denied and the shell denylist blocks the usual ways out. Not a sandbox: these are string prefix rules on the parsed command, so a determined command still reaches the network. Treat it as a guard rail, not a wall.

Quiet Context

Drops the project context block, the prompt detail and the model info from what is sent, and turns desktop notifications off. For long sessions where the preamble is competing with the task for attention.

Skills Off

Loads no skills at all. disabled_skills is a case-insensitive glob list and \

Slow Build

Raises the shell timeout from 300 seconds to 30 minutes and the captured output ceiling from 16 kB to 64 kB. For the compile or migration that the default kills at five minutes and then reports as a failure.

Subagents Ready

Pre-approves this repo's four subagents on the task tool, so delegating to them stops prompting. Vibe CLI ships tools.task.allowlist as exactly [\

Test Runner

Runs the suite and reads the code. Its own edit tools are off, so it cannot rewrite a failing test to make it pass, though an allowlisted test runner can still do whatever that runner does. Uses Vibe CLI's built-in tests system prompt. The shell allowlist restates Vibe CLI's own defaults for both platforms, because setting allowlist replaces the default list rather than adding to it.

The source, and the licence

Each profile is a TOML file checked against the loader itself, because a broken profile fails silently rather than telling you. CC BY-SA 4.0. Not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Mistral AI.
