Copilot Chat will be available for Microsoft 365 Copilot users from the side pane on the right-hand side when using Copilot Search in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app. This allows users to engage with Copilot while browsing universal search without switching pages or losing context.

This release enables M365 Copilot to reason over Power BI enterprise data and returns grounded answers directly from Power BI reports and semantic models. Users can ask natural‑language questions and receive accurate answers.

Multimodal capture enables users to transcribe audio, take images, and type notes in a single session. Copilot then creates a structured Copilot Page with insights and user-captured content, saved to a user-selected Copilot Notebook. Designed for capturing offline work moments—including in-person conversations, whiteboard sessions, and personal notes. This capability is already generally available on OneNote for iPhone and iPad.

Declarative Agents with Actions enable Microsoft 365 Copilot to take real-world actions by invoking APIs, plugins, and enterprise workflows directly within the chat experience. Using custom actions, declarative agents can call external systems, execute operations, and retrieve or update data, moving beyond Q&A to full task completion. These actions are powered through API plugins, MCP tools, and enterprise connectors, allowing seamless integration with line-of-business applications and services. The Copilot platform dynamically reasons over available actions and selects the appropriate tool to fulfill user intent, enabling multi-step workflows such as creating records, submitting requests, or triggering business processes within a single conversational flow

Managers in organizations can now access their Agent 365 data through the Agent Dashboard in Copilot Analytics (Insights), enabling them to understand activity across all agents registered through Agent 365. Customers with Agent 365 and Copilot will now see the Agent 365 Dashboard with the ability to view historical data in Agent Dashboard.

Agents in Viva Engage communities supports communities by answering questions, facilitating knowledge sharing, citing sources, and scaling expertise.

Administrators using the Microsoft 365 admin center and Teams admin center will be able to apply app and agent installation changes once and have them consistently enforced across Teams, Outlook, and Microsoft 365 Copilot. Previously, installation changes made in the Microsoft 365 admin center only applied to Outlook and Microsoft 365, while changes made in the Teams admin center only applied to Teams. With this update, app and agent installation is unified across all supported surfaces, enabling a more consistent and streamlined admin experience.

Declarative agent manifest schema version 1.8 is available for Microsoft 365 Copilot. It adds the EmailActions capability for email write operations such as triage, supervised send, delete, inbox rules, auto-reply, and folder management, separate from the read-only Email capability. It adds the MeetingActions capability for meeting and calendar actions such as scheduling events, creating time-finding polls, and surfacing time insights. It also adds a file property to the worker agent object and an embedded_resource_snapshot_id property to the embedded knowledge object.

Users in DoD will be able to use custom engine agents.

Previously, autonomous agents could only be used and managed by makers, limiting their reach to the people who needed them. Run-only sharing enables makers to securely share autonomous agents with end users, allowing users to benefit from agent-driven automation without requiring edit permissions or ownership. This extends autonomous agent capabilities to a broader audience while maintaining governance and control.

Agents that are published to Agents 365 are already managed in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. If the agent implements the Agent2Agent protocol, it can be used as a connected agent for the agents that users build in Agent Builder or Copilot Studio.

The Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention policy to restrict Microsoft 365 Copilot processing sensitive files in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will now apply regardless of file storage location.

A new admin control in the People Skills settings lets administrators permanently remove their organization's People Skills data from the tenant. With this new control, organizations can delete their entire skills library along with all users confirmed, inferred, and imported skills data—giving them full control to offboard from People Skills in support of data governance and compliance needs. Once deletion is initiated, skills will no longer appear on user profile cards or be used across Microsoft 365 skills-based experiences such as Copilot and Viva. The control is admin-only with no automatic changes.

We are increasing the maximum auto-labeling capacity for SharePoint and OneDrive from 100,000 up to 500,000 files per tenant per day. This helps organizations label and protect more of their data at rest, faster, closing labeling gaps across existing content. With sensitivity labels and protection settings applied to more files sooner, organizations can better prepare their data estate for Microsoft 365 Copilot with greater confidence.

We've introduced a new experience for Copilot in the apps—a consistent entry point across apps that sits above your work and understands the context beneath it. Rather than scattering touchpoints across the interface, it anchors Copilot as one connected system across Microsoft 365, surfacing relevant actions that help you stay in flow. With this release, we are rolling out this new experience - already available across other Outlook endpoints, as well as in Word, Excel and PowerPoint - to classic Outlook.
