Starting today, Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 5 is available in Microsoft 365 Copilot, a new frontier model rolling out in Copilot Cowork and PowerPoint, built for agentic, multi-step work across everyday work: documents, spreadsheets, and presentation tasks.

Most of the work that matters doesn't happen in one place. A quarterly review, a win-loss analysis, an onboarding plan, each one draws on several systems, moves through several tools, and depends on someone holding the thread across all of them.

Request feedback from Copilot on your Page by selecting "Suggested edits" in the Copilot Shortcuts menu. Copilot will analyze the content on your page and provide actionable suggestions about what you can change to improve clarity and quality of your written content. You can then apply suggestions directly to the page.

Copilot Notebooks in OneNote now suggests artifacts to create, such as Word documents, Excel workbooks, and PowerPoint presentations, based on Microsoft 365 knowledge and the content in your notebook. Select the suggestion and Copilot will generate the artifact.

The new Copilot Notebooks design in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app now lets users organize related chats, output creations, and references into a persistent AI workspace. Copilot uses the Notebook's accumulated context to ground responses, so work continues across sessions instead of starting over each time.

AI spend and usage insights for GitHub Copilot will be available on Viva Insights for managers with at least 5 direct reports (scoped access), Global analysts and Microsoft Global administrators. They can track spend and make data-driven decisions for AI spend and usage in GitHub Copilot. The dashboard is enabled by default to ensure immediate access.

Copilot connectors will offer improved content freshness with more frequent sync of updates using webhook event notifications. The following connectors are in scope - Azure DevOps, Jira cloud, Confluence cloud, Trello, Asana, Bitbucket, GitHub and Gitlab.

Users can ask for additional search results (emails, meetings, calendar, and files) during a multi-turn conversation by saying things like "show me more." Copilot continues from where it left off, pulling in remaining relevant results to maintain context and improve accuracy.

Once a Copilot Chat user has finished researching, creating, and collecting content in Copilot Pages, they can take it to a SharePoint News Post with the press of 'SharePoint' button under 'Create'. Microsoft has chosen not to move forward with this feature.

This feature helps organizations reduce security risk by preventing agents and flows from being shared when they rely on unsafe identities, such as maker credentials.

The agent node lets you embed reasoning directly into your workflow. This means fewer manual handoffs, faster processing times, and workflows that can handle nuanced decisions without additional development effort, helping teams automate more of their end-to-end processes and reduce operational overhead.

By blocking the use of maker's credentials by AI agents, admins can increase the security and compliance of agents in their organizations: - Prevent unauthorized access to sensitive systems or data that the maker's credentials might have access to.

Microsoft announced that starting July 2, 2026, feature updates for Microsoft Copilot Studio, Sales Agent, Finance Agent, and Service Agent are published on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, creating a single destination for upcoming capabilities across Microsoft 365 apps, Copilot, and agents.

Ask Copilot about an image in Edge enables users to instantly analyze images from the web by sending them directly to Copilot from the Edge context menu, making it easy to ask questions, gain insights, and understand visual content without leaving their browsing experience.

When a user performs a search on google.com from a work profile, Microsoft Edge can detect whether organization-specific results are available for that query. When relevant results are found, a banner is shown with a link to explore those work results with Microsoft 365 Copilot.
