This update introduces a co-branding experience in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app that helps organizations present an admin approved visual identifier directly within the Chat screen. Specifically, the experience enables administrators to leverage the organization-supported logo already managed in the Microsoft Admin Center theming settings and display it in the footer of the Chat screen, paired with a fixed label: “Approved by”.

The new Copilot Notebooks design in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app now lets users organize related chats, output creations, and references into a persistent AI workspace. Copilot uses the Notebook's accumulated context to ground responses, so work continues across sessions instead of starting over each time. While this is the quicker, light-weight Notebooks experience, you can still find the fuller, workspace-forward experience in OneNote.

Deep citations let users quickly verify Copilot's results by linking directly to the relevant part of the reference, boosting trust. We're starting with Word and PPT files, then adding Meetings, Web, and PDF references.

A multi‑channel outreach capability, spanning web chat, voice, SMS, and email, is critical for meeting customers in the channel they naturally prefer and increasing the likelihood of timely engagement. By activating the agent across multiple surfaces, we ensure continuity of conversations, reduce drop‑off when a single channel fails, and support the FY27 goal of always‑on, end‑to‑end engagement from initial intent to close. This creates higher response rates, faster qualification, and a more seamless handoff to sales motions.

A July 7, 2026 Microsoft Dynamics 365 blog post states that Sales Agent and Service Agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot are now generally available, embedded in Dynamics 365, Copilot, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams, powered by Work IQ and grounded in Dynamics 365 data. Service Agent generates case summaries, suggests next actions, drafts customer-ready emails, and updates records. This decision takes a lot of time because sellers must sift through large amounts of data across tools and data sources. This data includes information from internal systems like their CRM and external resources like the web and third-party data services. Sales Agent handles the work of reviewing every available data source to create a comprehensive summary for each lead. Feature description: Model Context Protocol (MCP) based agents in Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat will now be able to surface rich, interactive UI widgets directly within chat. This enhancement enables developers to deliver more engaging and structured agent interactions. Users will experience these widgets when interacting with agents that implement them, and admins will continue to manage these agents through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

By blocking the use of maker's credentials by AI agents, admins can increase the security and compliance of agents in their organizations: - Prevent unauthorized access to sensitive systems or data that the maker's credentials might have access to. - Help organizations comply with data protection regulations (such as GDPR or HIPAA) by ensuring only authorized identities are used for data access. - Enable IT and security teams to enforce organizational policies around identity and access management. - Increase trust among stakeholders and IT departments, making it easier to adopt AI agents at scale.

Microsoft announced that starting July 2, 2026, feature updates for Microsoft Copilot Studio, Sales Agent, Finance Agent, and Service Agent are published on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, creating a single destination for upcoming capabilities across Microsoft 365 apps, Copilot, and agents. Release Planner will no longer be a source of feature information for these products. No immediate action is required; Microsoft advises updating saved Release Planner bookmarks and informing stakeholders who rely on Release Planner.

We are expanding Microsoft Purview DLP for Microsoft 365 Copilot to safeguard prompts containing sensitive data. This real-time control helps organizations mitigate data leakage and oversharing risks by preventing Microsoft 365 Copilot and agents from returning a response when prompts contain sensitive data or using that sensitive data for grounding in Microsoft 365 or the web. When a user performs a search on google.com from a work profile, Microsoft Edge can detect whether organization-specific results are available for that query. When relevant results are found, a banner is shown with a link to explore those work results with Microsoft 365 Copilot. This builds on the existing experience already available on Bing and extends it to Google, helping users seamlessly access work-related information regardless of their search engine. This feature enables IT admins to customize a portion of the user notification messages for recording and transcription during Teams calls.

Describe a workflow intent such as "when files are set to status = Complete, post a message in my Teams chat" and Copilot in SharePoint will assemble the necessary triggers, conditions, and actions to setup your workflow. You can come back to Copilot in SharePoint at any time to make changes or click "Workflows" from the command bar to see your live workflow.
