- What broke
- On the live GitHub pages of the new awesome-copilot-agent-skills repo, the Markdown renderer swallowed every bare angle-bracket placeholder (738 tokens across 128 skill files and 15 pack files), so skill pages showed broken lines such as "as of ." and four skill descriptions rendered blank.
- What was done
- Fixed the same day, 17 Sep 2026, commit f14a4fb: every placeholder wrapped in code marks at the source, pages and zips regenerated, checker PASS 137/0, release v1.0.0's 26 assets re-uploaded, live render verified.

The agent skills repositories (GitHub)
- What broke
- One of the 37 skills in the public awesome-copilot-cowork-skills repo (skills/data-analytics/dataset-insight-pack/SKILL.md) had an unquoted colon and an em dash in its description, so anyone re-using that file in Agent Builder would have had the upload rejected as invalid YAML; found on 16 Sep after a first upload of eight skills to Agent Builder was rejected for the same colon.
- What was done
- Description folded with `>-` and the em dash removed, pushed to awesome-copilot-cowork-skills main on 17 Sep 2026 with a README cross-link section; Reddit Post B keeps "36 of 37" as the pre-fix result.

The Copilot Hardening Baseline
- What broke
- A buyer asked whether the kit was built on MITRE ATLAS or a CIS benchmark, and the honest answer was that none of its numbered controls was mapped to any external framework; once the mapping was built, three CIS Microsoft 365 Foundations v7.0.0 recommendations (3.2.3, 3.3.1, 7.2.9) turned out to have no check in the kit at all.
- What was done
- v1.2 shipped to Gumroad on both doors 15 Sep 2026 with a 24-page Section 9 crosswalk (MITRE ATLAS 2026.08, OWASP LLM Top 10 2025, CIS v7.0.0 verified against the benchmark PDF, NIST AI RMF), the sales line limited to "mapped to" with certified/compliant gate-banned, and the three CIS gaps stated in the chapter as owed to the next edition.

- What broke
- The blog source list pointed at a Microsoft Tech Community board that had moved; the old address returned a valid but empty feed, so the W37 blog scout reported a quiet week while four in-window posts, including the 9 Sep Domain Exclusion reversal, went unread by every scout.
- What was done
- Fixed 11 Sep 2026 before release: feeds.yaml corrected, the fetch re-run, the post hand-curated at Rolling out rather than GA; fetch_feeds.py now follows a moved board and coverage_census.py warns when a scout goes quiet.

- For about an hour on 11 Sep 2026 live guides on kesslernity.com carried 22 rewritten lines of the author's own existing prose (licence-portal lines, a myth card, source citations) because a guide-patch agent applied an edition-only rule to the guides and the change was pushed before its report was read.
- What was done
- Reverted one-for-one the same hour (site commit f3e2aa7); future guide-patch briefs are additions only inside the anchor, and any change to a pre-existing line is a proposal for Mathieu, not an edit.

- What broke
- The kit's custom landing page showed buyers the raw code ● ● ● where three dots should appear, because a browser does not decode that code inside a style rule.
- What was done
- The landing page was republished on 8 Sep 2026 and verified in a browser by computed style, dots rendering and no entity text visible, buy button and licence footer intact.

The free front doors
- What broke
- The whole premise of the free sheets, that a free download leads to a paid kit, did not hold: a whole-history check found 219 people took Copilot on One Page and one of them later bought anything ($39), the new Rollout Readiness Scorecard had zero claims a week after a five-channel launch, and the on-site thanks page live since Sep 4 offered nothing to buy.
- What was done
- Ruled Sep 5 2026 that the magnets are capture doors, not a sales channel; capture moved on-site into the newsletter Sep 4, an interest-based next-step band was added to every magnet and thanks page Sep 7 (commit 9968637), and no further magnet-capture plumbing is to be built.

M365 Copilot Deployment Kit
- What broke
- After the checklist was corrected, the kit's own sales page kept advertising that the checklist covers "the EU AI Act August 2026 deadline" in three places (the description and twice in the landing page FAQ), so the listing now contradicts the file it sells; as of 9 Sep 2026 it was the last stale carrier in the store.
- What was done
- The three stale carriers on the listing were replaced on 17 September 2026 with the dates as amended by Regulation (EU) 2026/1744, verified on the public page.

The Copilot Hardening Baseline
- What broke
- The v1.1 advisor-agent instruction block shipped inside the zip let the agent make up a tracker status during the tenant test: it called check S2-18 UNVERIFIED when the row actually carries the kit's best-verified flags.
- What was done
- Instruction block hardened the same hour so statuses and flags are quoted from the pasted row and never inferred, re-gated 66/66, rebuilt and re-shipped to Gumroad with the embed re-verified; no buyer had downloaded the earlier zip.

M365 Copilot Deployment Kit
- What broke
- The governance checklist inside the shipped kit (and inside the $249 bundle) still told buyers to treat the EU AI Act Digital Omnibus as proposed and to keep planning around an August 2026 date, five weeks after the amending regulation had been published in the Official Journal on 24 July 2026.
- What was done
- Kit v1.1.2 with the corrected timeline table replaced the file on the $97 product on 1 Sep 2026 17:04:53Z and on the $249 bundle on 2 Sep 2026, both verified by downloading the live file back and hash-matching it.

- The 10-seat Team licence was deleted from the kit on 12 Aug 2026, but for about three weeks the landing page still showed a "10 seats for $297" hero line, a Team licence pricing card with a "Get 10 seats · $297" buy button, an expense paragraph and a FAQ sentence selling a tier that no longer existed.
- What was done
- All five occurrences were deleted from the landing page on 1 Sep 2026 under a founder ruling, and the served page was verified at 0 occurrences of "297" and "Team licence".

- What broke
- The free public Microsoft Scout guide on kesslernity.com attributed an invented term, an 'agentic asset register', to Article 9 of the EU AI Act, which is the risk management article and contains no register; the live page served that sentence verbatim.

- Repaired and redeployed on 1 Sep 2026; gate-facts verified on the live page and repo copy that both 'Article 9' and 'asset register' return zero hits.

- What broke
- The same fabricated Article 9 citation sat inside guide 27 of three of the six kit zips Gumroad was serving on the two paid M365 Copilot Deployment Kit products, so paying buyers who downloaded v1.1 or v1.1.1 received it.
- What was done
- Corrected kit rebuilt as v1.1.2 and swapped onto the $97 kit on 1 Sep 2026 and the bundle on 2 Sep 2026, both hash-verified by download-back; copies already on buyers' disks cannot be reached, only re-delivered.

- An old-named Scout PDF frozen on 9 Aug stayed tracked in git and downloadable at a stable kesslernity.com URL, so every correction made to the guide had an uncorrected twin still being served to anyone holding the old link.

- On Mathieu's 1 Sep 2026 ruling all 27 legacy PDFs were removed in commit c2593a2, deployed, and the old-name Scout URL probed to 404; the build script now fails if tracked stale PDFs reappear.

The Copilot Hardening Baseline

- The live $199 Gumroad listing, published 24 Aug 2026, told visitors that every one of the 176 checks names the console path, while the kit's own register said there is no console path on 42 of those rows; the same sentence sat in a LinkedIn Page post scheduled for 16 Sep, and the gate meant to catch it read green because it only tested that the field was non-empty.
- What was done
- Mathieu ruled "Cut the false limbs now" on 1 Sep 2026; the console-path clause was deleted from description, custom_html and summary (triple universal = 0 hits across all 47 products), the LinkedIn Page post was pulled to draft and rescheduled with claim-free text under a new id for the same 16 Sep slot, and the 15 Sep probe asserts the listing no longer carries it.

The Copilot Adoption Report Kit
- What broke
- The report pack labelled as a 30-day window summed active days over the full 180-day trend pull, so the management workbook and dashboard printed a mean of 77 active days in a month and a value estimate about six times too flattering, seen on a real pseudonymized run.
- What was done
- Record L landed 28 Aug 2026 (night): the full-series total was deleted, the defect reproduced on the pre-edit module (T1-6=90, dayCount 180) and the windowed readings (15, dayCount 30, 150 rows declared outside) proven after with five mutation controls; the stale pinned sample value moved 731.25 to 412.5.

The Copilot Adoption Report Kit
- What broke
- In the Detailed Pack a buyer pays extra for, the Per User and Per Agent sheets came out blank with no explanation on the sheet, and the two data-quality rows meant to say why shipped with an empty Note, breaking the kit's own promise to print a named reason wherever it withholds a number.
- What was done
- Record I (28 Aug 2026) fixed the null-materialisation mechanism at Workbook.ps1:845 and Record K the same day gave both conditions their sentences, so the DQ Note, the sheet footnote and any dashboard caption are one string and the blank sheets explain themselves.

- What broke
- A paying reader ran a prompt published in the awesome-microsoft-copilot-prompts repo and Copilot refused to execute it, because eight published prompts asked Copilot to judge named people from their messages, which Copilot will not do.
- What was done
- Aug 27 2026, commit 6435a6e: the eight prompts were kept and each now carries a warning blockquote above the prompt saying what was run in Copilot, what was not, and which half of the prompt still works (64 insertions, zero deletions).

Securing Agents in M365 Copilot
- What broke
- A paid buyer who downloaded some but not all of the 22 loose Core files and ran the integrity check the readme tells them to run saw the manifest report files missing, which on a security product reads as tampering; the listings had been live since 20 Aug 2026 with files uploaded one by one.
- What was done
- One zip per tier replaced the loose uploads on 25 Aug 2026; on 17 Sep 2026 the read-me gained the instruction to run the check from inside the unzipped folder, the manifest was regenerated, and the Core and Team zips were replaced live and verified by download-back.

Copilot Agent Pack, Vol. 1
- What broke
- The free sample had two live Gumroad workflows sending the same three emails, so the three people who claimed it each received every nurture email twice, nine duplicate emails in all; the copy was created on Jul 9 because a memory claim said the workflows API did not exist and the session could not see what was already live.
- What was done
- Closed the same day, Aug 24, 2026: Mathieu deleted 2 and unpublished 3 duplicate workflows in the dashboard; re-read from the API afterwards showed all five affected products at exactly one live workflow, zero double-sends.

- What broke
- Seven Launch 2 emails told readers the $59 Playbook came free with the M365 Copilot Deployment Kit, but the Kit's own landing page said nothing about it, so a buyer arrived at a $97 page that did not mention the offer and only found out it was real in the receipt.
- What was done
- On 24 Aug 2026 a 26-word banner was added under the Kit buy button stating the Playbook is free with the Kit and claimed for $0 from a receipt link, sanitizer removed nothing and the live render was verified; the date clause was later stripped from receipt and landing by 1 Sep 2026 when Mathieu made the offer permanent.

The Copilot Hardening Baseline

- The first draft of the sales copy claimed every check names what Microsoft's own page says the default is, while the same page admitted Microsoft publishes no default for 80 of the 176 checks; the lead claim was false for 45% of the product and the page carried its own disproof.
- What was done
- Caught by the three-lab review panel (two DO NOT SHIP verdicts) before the listing went live on 24 Aug 2026; the default clause was made conditional and a new P5 gate now checks every element inside a universal sentence against all 176 rows, refusing the sentence unless it names 96 of 176.

- What broke
- The Copilot for Busy People launch copy on Threads, the Notion hub, the Instagram caption, both video cuts and a sent X post claimed the free Copilot tier cannot find a file by name, which is false: finding a file by name is the first of three documented routes an unlicensed user has to organisation content.
- What was done
- Rewritten on 23 Aug 2026 to 'ask for a file you never uploaded and never opened. With a licence it can find it. Free Copilot cannot reach it on its own.' on Threads, the live Notion hub, the Instagram caption and both video cuts (commit 846fa77e); the X post sent 22 Aug 18:30Z cannot be edited and Mathieu ruled the same day to leave it, no delete, no repost, no correcting reply.

- The free Copilot on One Page store listing still described itself as a single sheet and advertised a 30-minute guide in the $39 kit (the guide is 33 pages) at the very moment an update email to 136 downloaders retracted both claims, so readers saw the email and the page contradict each other.

- Same day, Aug 20 2026: the description (3,853 to 4,293 chars) and custom_html (5,288 to 5,853 chars) were rewritten for the three-page reality and the 33-page guide, read back exact and live-verified; the v3 three-page rebuild replaced the whole listing on Aug 29 2026.

- The pre-purchase reader-roles page and the scripts readme told readers the scripts leave no write path into your tenant, but the first admin consent registers a Graph PowerShell service principal and a consent grant in the tenant; the claim sat in staged files during the pre-launch audit and no copy had been sold yet.
- What was done
- Narrowed at both named sites on 19 Aug 2026 with wording lifted from the verification kit (authenticating is the one exception, the consent creates the service principal and delegated grant once per tenant, both revocable under Enterprise applications), one day before the 20 Aug 2026 launch.

- Closed the same day: Mathieu uploaded -v3.zip (507,832 B) on Aug 17, 2026 and delivery was verified from rich_content (exactly one fileEmbed pointing at the new file); the Aug 25 sha256 audit confirmed the live zip is byte-identical to the local build.

- The shipped second edition of the Playbook, plus a scheduled LinkedIn post and an X post, told readers a backdoored npm package (postmark-mcp) had fifteen clean releases behind it; the npm registry shows thirteen releases inside about 46 hours, so the book implied a long trusted track record that never existed.
- What was done
- Corrected in revision 2 on 17 Aug 2026 to thirteen releases inside about 46 hours with a new primary source [T40], the correction printed in the text rather than patched away, all four Gumroad files replaced and sha256-verified, and the 21 Sep LinkedIn and 23 Sep X posts rewritten in Buffer; the buyer notification the book's own edition-control box promises was drafted but recorded as not sent.

- Six public surfaces (the book's Chapter 8, Figure 4, template 12, the Gumroad landing FAQ, kesslernity.com/playbook and the product-page FAQ in the site code) each named a different list of connector and MCP checks, while the free review sheet named five; a reader comparing the free sheet with the paid book saw the method disagree with itself.
- What was done
- On 17 Aug 2026 all six surfaces were aligned to the free sheet's five (provenance, scope, hosting, permission inheritance, sign-off routing); the Gumroad landing was republished and read back byte-identical, the site shipped as commit b3ba409, Figure 4 was re-rendered and the book rebuilt and re-uploaded.

- What was done
- The v1.1 page was regenerated by script (make_custom_page_v1_1.py, 19 assertion-guarded edits, 31/31 checks, render-verified in headless Chrome) and published Aug 17, 2026; the import card moved to What's Inside and the agents section is six again.

Copilot Agent Pack, Vol. 1
- What broke
- The shipped zip had carried an import-ready-packages folder (seven files) since Jul 7 that neither the README nor the sales page mentioned, so a buyer opening the download found files nobody had told them about; and the Vol. 2 vote link in the v1.0 guide was a dead placeholder, so anyone who clicked it got nothing.
- What was done
- Fixed in v1.1 (built and gated Aug 16, file uploaded and delivery verified Aug 17, 2026): README and sales page now describe the folder, all seven packages have SHA-256 pinned in make_bundle.py, the vote link is live and CHANGELOG.txt says so.

Securing Agents in M365 Copilot
- What broke
- The kit's main script, the agent inventory, had passed six build gates and three external reviews in July 2026 without ever being executed in a tenant; on its first real run it crashed every time, killing the flagged table, the CSV export and the INDETERMINATE banner, so a buyer would have received a script that could not complete.
- What was done
- Both always-firing code defects were fixed on 16 Aug 2026 using helpers the kit already contained, the fix was verified by executing the code against four response shapes, and the re-run scored recall 100% and precision 100% against an independent az rest read, all before the 20 Aug 2026 launch.

- What broke
- The Gate Diagnostic and the Connector and MCP Review Sheet PDFs, live on the store since Aug 11 2026, printed their store and playbook URLs as bold plain text with no clickable link and no tracking tags, so a reader had to retype the address by hand and no follow-on visit or sale could be traced to either sheet.
- What was done
- Fixed 17 Sep 2026: both sheets re-rendered with two tagged link annotations each (utm_content gate_pdf and mcp_pdf), swapped one-for-one on Gumroad and verified by download-back hash; text unchanged.

Securing Agents in M365 Copilot
- What broke
- The least-privilege script reused any existing Graph session and connected without pinning a tenant, so it could produce a complete, confident report about the wrong organisation with only a grey GUID as the clue and no tenant identity in the CSV; found in the pre-launch tenant test before any copy was sold.
- What was done
- Fixed before the 20 Aug 2026 launch: the script now takes -TenantId on connect, reuses only a valid session, refuses to read from an empty tenant or account, proves liveness with an in-scope call, prints the tenant ID unconditionally and stamps it into the CSV.

- Ruled 14 Aug 2026 that the live body stays as posted; the correct answer went into the reply plan, the finding was carried into W34 as an item, and a gate cross-checking body claims against the edition's flags file was logged as owed.

- The Cowork repo's README (lines 21-22) and FAQ (line 11) sent readers without the right licence to the two free sibling repos and quoted stale sizes for them: 57 agents for chat-agents when it held 82, 78 for studio-agents when it held 103, underselling the free alternative at the exact moment the reader was told Cowork would not run for them.

- The awesome-copilot-studio-agents page agents/industry/epc-energy/README.md was live for weeks promising 13 EPC declarative agents, all 13 marked Planned / Coming Soon, with a "Star the repo to be notified" button that could not notify anyone (GitHub notifies watchers of releases and the repo has never had a release).
- What was done
- Aug 12 2026, commit 260d801: four agents were built inside the 8,000-character Copilot Studio limit, the Coming Soon banner and the false notify CTA were removed, "13 declarative agents" became 4, and the nine unbuilt agents moved to a Roadmap section that states they do not exist and have no date.

- The two repos published three different prompt counts at once: the prompts repo's GitHub description said "400+", its README and badge said 573, and the files held 607 fenced prompts (699 by heading); the studio repo's description said 94 agents while 99 existed (103 after the EPC build). Every public number was an under-count, and the kesslernity.com home page carried stale star and count figures too.
- What was done
- Aug 12 2026: prompts description changed 400+ to 573 and studio description 94 to 103 via gh repo edit, studio README and AGENTS.md re-indexed to 103 rows = 103 files; Aug 28 2026 the site's hardcoded stars and counts were refreshed and a monthly first-of-month refresh ritual was set; the internal CLAUDE.md still says "400+" with a verify-live instruction.

- The June 2026 first edition of The Real Cost of Copilot explained the credit mechanics and left the reader to do the arithmetic with no worked example to follow; the first buyer critique the catalogue ever received called it complicated and short on examples, and every buyer held that file until 6 Aug.
- What was done
- Second edition built and uploaded 6 Aug 2026 (verified live on Gumroad 7 Aug) with Appendix G, one invented estate costed over two months, a worked column beside every blank cell in Appendix D and a filled Appendix C, growing the book from 109 to 124 pages.

- The June 2026 book labelled the Article 50(2) marking grace a four-month window while trade coverage calls the same window three-month, so a reader checking sources saw a conflicting label instead of the one fact that does not move, the 2 Dec 2026 end date.
- What was done
- Every window-length phrase in chapters 5, 9, 10 and the governance-cadence spec was replaced with the 2 Dec 2026 end date on 5 Sep 2026 and shipped in Gumroad v1.1 on 9 Sep 2026; the standing rule is now state the end date, never the length.

- What broke
- The kit launched 21 Jun 2026 with $149 and $499 team tiers that nobody bought; after Mathieu deleted them from checkout on 9 Jul 2026, copies of the old copy kept advertising them, in the public llms.txt files on kesslernity.com, in the LICENSE.md inside the download, and in the ops-hub landing page file.
- What was done
- The stale tier copy inside the read-me was removed in the 17 September 2026 rebuild.

The Real Cost of Copilot and the Design Guide
- What broke
- The live Gumroad title of the Agent Instruction Block Design Guide read "Agent Instruction Block Design Guide , 12 Patterns for Copilot Chat Agents That Actually Work" with an em dash, which house rule 8 bans, on the store tile, listing and receipts from launch (Jun 2026) to 8 Sep 2026; on 5 Jul 2026 it was accepted as a standing exception rather than fixed, and no sweep had ever checked the title field.
- What was done
- Renamed to a colon on 8 Sep 2026 on Mathieu's "fix them" ruling, with slug and tier suffix proven unchanged; a live re-read found 0 of 60 product names carrying an em dash.

- For three weeks after the 13 Jun 2026 launch the Gumroad sales page carried no evidence block, the only paid page in the line without one, so a buyer saw claims about files, page count, ISBN and QA with nothing on the page backing them.
- What was done
- A disk-verified receipts card went live on 3 Jul 2026 (19 files, 3.4MB, 138-page PDF, ISBN, 36-file QA trail); the 9 Sep 2026 rebuild is 141 pages and 4.56MB and the record shows no card update since, so verify the live card before quoting it.

The agent skills repositories (GitHub)
- What broke
- At creation the Cowork repo's GitHub LICENSE file said CC0-1.0 (picked by accident in the repo-creation dialog) while the README badge and licence section said CC BY-SA 4.0, so a visitor saw two different licences on the same repo.
- What was done
- The canonical CC BY-SA 4.0 legal text replaced the CC0 file; by the 12 Aug 2026 licence audit GitHub's detector read the repo as CC-BY-SA-4.0 and its LICENSE pair was copied to the three sibling repos (exact replacement date not recorded).
