Both Audio Recap and Video Recap require the Microsoft 365 Copilot paid add-on — $30/user/month (Enterprise) or $21/user/month for organisations with up to 300 users (Business). Neither is included in standard M365 plans or free Copilot Chat. Verify under Teams → Settings → Subscriptions or contact your Microsoft admin. Pricing reflects standard US list pricing and may vary by region, currency, or enterprise agreement.
Copilot Cowork is now generally available and billed on usage (Copilot Credits, $0.01/credit pay-as-you-go), and the Work IQ APIs reached GA. Audio and Video Recap remain included in your M365 Copilot add-on — but if your org builds custom agents that ground in M365 data via Work IQ, that usage is metered in Copilot Credits. See the licensing/comparison guide for the full cost picture.
An earlier version of this page said Audio Recap had reached GA. It has not. Microsoft Learn's intelligent recap documentation carries an explicit note under Audio recap: "This feature is currently in Public preview." The GA claim traces to Roadmap ID 558540, which is the video recap identifier, not audio.
The sources are not identical, and it is worth knowing why. The end-user how-to on Microsoft Support carries no preview banner, which is normal for Support pages and is not an availability statement. The admin-facing Learn page is the one that labels release status, and it says preview. Video recap on that same Learn page carries no preview note, so Video Recap is GA.
What that means for a rollout: Audio Recap is provided for evaluation and can change before release. Do not write it into a general enablement deck or a signed-off training plan as a finished feature. Everything else on this page (transcript requirement, 8-meeting limit, storage, languages, failure modes) is unaffected.

What it is: Video Recap generates narrated highlight reels from recorded meetings — short clips of key moments combined with an AI-generated audio narration. Different from Audio Recap, which works from transcript only.
Current limits: Requires a recording — transcript alone is not enough. Meeting must be 10–90 minutes. English only — the button does not appear on meetings held in another spoken language. Available in Teams desktop and web — not yet on mobile. Available 10–15 minutes after the recording upload completes.
Licence: M365 Copilot paid add-on — same as Audio Recap.
